The woman in the photo is Edith Piaf (1915-1963). She was a very famous French singer, and also an actress. One of a her most famous song is “Non, je ne regrette rien”.

The nickname the English give us is “frogs” because in France we eat frogs. In French, “froggs” means “grenouilles”.
